This is an important contribution for many reasons, inter alia:

First symmetry-preserving Poincaré-invariant study in quantum field theory of the masses and decay constants of ground and excited state u, d, s mesons.

Qualitative and quantitative comparisons over this collection of 22 states between the widely used RL truncation and the first bound-state kernels to include the nonperturbatively generated, EHM-induced, momentum-dependent anomalous chromomagnetic moment (ACM) correction in a fully symmetry preserving fashion.

An elucidation of a new body of shortcomings in RL truncation when applied to systems including at least one s quark.

A demonstration that all shortcomings of RL truncation in its application to masses and decay constants of ground and excited state u, d, s mesons are eliminated by inclusion of ACMs for the dressed quarks and the nonperturbative propagation of this feature into bound state kernels.

In achieving these goals, the manuscript delivers conceptually new insights into the impacts of EHM on meson properties.

The results and predictions can be used, e.g., by the AMBER Collaboration to connect strange-quark spectroscopy with the overarching EHM theme that has won AMBER Phase-1 approval from CERN management.
